€œIf you’re a goalkeeper, it doesn’t matter what you save the ball with – if you keep it out, it’s not a goal.€ A pearl of wisdom from the BBC's stalwart pundit and commentator, Mr Mark Lawrenson.
Depending on where you've been getting your World Cup fix, the only thing worse than the incessant Vuvuzelas are idiotic commentators/pundits. You'd hardly call Alan Shearer insightful. ITV employed Edgar Davids who looks glad just to be picking up a paycheck as well as appearing on C4's The IT Crowd. As for RTE €“ Ossie Ardiles is probably a good analyst, if you can decifer his broken English. And then there's Robbie Earle €“ he's had a good World Cup. This is all leading to today's World Cup Competition.
In no way mimicking any other quiz that may be on the BBC, today's original comp is called €œMock The World Cup Week€. Your category is “Most Unlikeliest Thing You’d Hear From a Football Commentator or Pundit during the World Cup.” Plenty of scope here folks, but let's keep it tasteful at least. Today's prizes are:
1st Prize £/€50 Free bet
2nd prize £/€40 Free Bet
3rd prize £/€ 25 Free bet
You need to have a Paddy Power account to win any of the prizes, obviously, and you are allowed three entries per person. All answers have to be posted before midnight on Tuesday.
Best of luck!
