UPDATE: Due to the unexpected difficulty of this competition, there’s some hints in the comments section. I’d advise reading them before having a guess.
What says Halloween more than the paddypower.com Cork National? Well everything basically, but this year the race coincides with the 31st October and that's enough for us to make the tenuous connection between the two events and run a competition to win a VIP trip for two to the big day. The press release from our marketing department says it's “the jewel in the crown of national hunt racing in Munster” and who could argue with that? Certainly not anyone who likes working for Paddy Power.
You and a friend will be guests of paddypower.com and can look forward to the following
– Reserved Enclosure entrance tickets
– Complimentary race card and tipster
– Four course silver service meal in the restaurant
– Complimentary drinks for the afternoon
– Overnight accommodation in Rochestown Park hotel
– €200 travel expenses
– €200 free Paddy Power betting vouchers
As it's a really good prize and the Cork National is being held on the feast day of wasting your hard earned cash on fireworks and costumes you'll wear once otherwise known as Halloween, we've come up with a rather difficult challenge. Tell us which three well-known personalities associated with jumps racing are in the picture below. It doesn’t matter to the competition, but they’re all are heading towards Club 92’s world famous fancy dress party at Leopardstown where this year they've got the Carter Twins doing a gig followed by Tony Fenton spinning his mid-life crisis wheels of steel until the wee hours. And vodka and generic energy drinks are half price between 11.30pm and 11.32pm.
Send your answer and your username to email@example.com [answers in the comments will NOT be entered into the competition, but may confuse competitors into thinking you're a moron].
You can have more than one go at it, but anyone who takes the piss by naming every combination of jumps racing personalities will be excluded and quite possibly ridiculed for having nothing else to do with their life. Correct answers will be entered into a draw with the winner picked out at random. The Paddy Power decision is final and all dissent will be crushed with violence if necessary [mwah, ha ha ha ha]. Closing date is midday on Tuesday 26th October which should give you ample time alcohol-fuelled inspiration over the bank holiday weekend.
It's a toughie, so if enough people use the comments section to beg for clues, then maybe we'll consider it. And by beg, we do mean shower us with empty flattery.
