Generally speaking, people who entered last week’s Guess Who Won These Majors Blog competition got the answer spot on. There were a couple of notable expectations. Focusing somewhat too much on the ‘silly pants wearer’ subject line, we had one guess of Ian Poulter, who has the biggest collection of silly pants in the world, but sadly a collection of majors to comparable to 99.9999999999999% of the world’s population. Another unusual guess was former Birmingham, Fulham and Luton Town football player and current Mr. Karren Brady, Paul Peschisolido. We’ll put that one down to looking at the wrong competition rather than a poor understanding of words.
It was Arnold Palmer and a lot of people delighted in smugly telling me how easily they got the answer. All the names went into the draw and the name plucked randomly from the hat was Mark Harrison. Congratulations Mark, thanks to the power of social media, that wins you a Free £66 Bet.
Incidentally, Mark had only nice things to say about my map work, saying:
“Hi Aiden, My educated guess is – Arnold Palmer. The map looked good.”
Hear that – the map looked “good”. Now that shameless praise of my excellent map had no influence on the outcome of the random draw, but maybe somewhere in the cosmos, there’s some cartographical karma floating around waiting to be handed out to anyone with a love of hastily put together blog maps. I’m just saying, that’s all.
We’ll have more topical and geographical blog competition fun soon – either later today or early tomorrow – depending how tried I get after staying up last night to watch Rory Mc.
