Scott Parker was honoured with the essentially arbitrary title of captain for last night’s entertaining but meaningless friendly loss to Holland. He played well enough throughout and will be in the mix for the captaincy when Harry Redknapp takes over in May. However, he did have himself a David Dunn moment. His brain and his feet had a disagreement on how to play the ball and he ended up tackling himself. Luckily he managed to make contact with the ball first so avoided a booking.
