#1: After Manchester United’s 2-0 over Blackburn, is the Premier League title race over?
Was it a cross? Was it a shot? Antonio Valencia is a man of few words. Generally, he just likes to torment defenders and run like hell. The Ecuadorian winger (26) struck with a ferocious 81st minute shot last night which helped Manchester United to a 2-0 win over Blackburn at Ewood Park. United are now 1/8 for the league, 12/1 to win their remaining PL games and 7/4 to win the league at the Ethiad against Manchester City on April 30.
#2: While we’re at it, is Gavin Henson finished too?
Despite being sacked by Cardiff Blues, Gavin Henson has plenty more to offer as a rugby player, says his former coach Lyn Jones. The Wales centre got the bullet on Monday after some booze-related shenanigans on a flight from Glasgow. London Welsh coach Jones worked with Henson at the Ospreys.
Jones said Henson (30), and others, needed to learn to deal with alcohol, but added: “I think he’s still got a lot to offer. Gavin needs to go into an environment where he can be trusted and left alone to play and to be helped to the next level.
“I’m unsure whether there are many sides still with the patience to offer that olive branch to him,” added Jones. Meanwhile, there’s a brief history of what Henson’s been up to lately, here while rugby fans can enjoy the above video for a bit of what the tanned guy used to be good at.
#3: Padraig Harrington talks up his game ahead of U.S. Masters
Dubliner Padraig Harrington (40) is keen to emphasise his own credentials ahead of the U.S. Masters which tees off this Thursday at Augusta. And why not?
“There’s no doubt I’ve got scar tissue but if you asked me if I would rather be 24 with no majors or 40 with three in the bag, I’d go with the latter. With the experience I have, I know I am going to be competing for a few years yet,” says three-time Major winner Harrington.
Ok, so he has fallen to 96th in the world rankings and no one expects the Irishman to win the Green Jacket at Augusta. But there’s a great piece from former Lloyd Cole and the Commotions bassist Lawrence Donegan with Harrington right here about why we shouldn’t forget his talents – which the above video hints at.
#4: Tennis, or more specifically, Bar Refaeli
The weather is getting better. Not only does that mean it’s prime tennis season in Europe, but girls sometimes like to wear less clothes too. Here’s supermodel Bar Refaeli combining two of our favourite things.
The stunning 26-year-old Israeli stars in a new advert for her underwear line, under.me. It proves that it is a hard to keep your eye on the ball as she flirts around the court in nothing but her skimpies. And it’s a darn sight prettier than, say, Andy Murray in a bikini, we’d imagine.
