We have a winner and less allegations of sexism

by Aidan Elder | April 10, 2012

Well, well, well. As the old saying doesn’t go, you wait about seven years for a woman to win a Paddy Power blog competition and two come along in relatively close proximity to each other. Yeah, it’s not a very catchy saying, is it?

The correct answer to last week’s blog competition was Leeds managerial legend and England walker-outer Don Revie. His playing career took in such hotspots as Leicester, Hull, Manchester City, Sunderland and Leeds United.

I didn’t get a whole lot of correct answers (Nicky Barmby was a popular but incorrect answer) so if you got it right, but didn’t get drawn out of my hat, then you can consider yourself unfortunate. You may also want to consider a sex change based how the fickle finger of fate has pointed in the last couple weeks.

Thanks to the sharing of the competition around the interweb, the prize has swelled to become a Free €74 Bet and that prize is winging it’s way in the direction of Kate McSweeney.

Congratulations Kate, your knowledge of Don Revie and pure jamminess are truly unparalleled .

Sorry about not answering the queries in the comments section and on Twitter. I was more of a e-hermit than I had been expecting so I couldn’t reply.
There’s more competition fun in the pipeline.
