There’s just days to go until the most crucial Manchester Derby possibly ever. That still plenty of time for mind games and some brilliant tittle-tattle.
Thankfully, we have haven’t wasted our time setting off fireworks and we’ve already announced our Money-Back Special for the game. And it’s an absolute peach, if we do say so ourselves.
If Wayne Rooney scores at any time during the game with Manchester City, Paddy Power will refund losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast bets.
To remove an semblance of ambiguity and emphasize it’s awesome-ness, that’s:
- WAYNE ROONEY
(the Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United striker, not some crappy namesake)
- TO SCORE
(a goal, not an elderly prostitute)
- AT ANY TIME
(the period from when the game begins until point where Fergie starts tapping his watch manically and the referee blows the final whistle)
(the opposite of ‘for’ as in ‘the world is against Carlos Tevez’)
- MANCHESTER CITY
(the Manchester football club supported by fewer cockneys)
It’s not as if it’s some sort of trick because Rooney falls to pieces at the sight of a Sky Blue jersey. He’s scored eight goals in 16 Manchester Derbies and the more impressive part of that stat is the majority of those goals have come after the time when City where perennial plucky relegation battlers. He’s scored six of those goals since the start of the 2008/09 season when the flood of petro-pounds elevated City to a Champions League outfit rather than a Championship outfit.
Plus not so long ago he did this to win a Derby:
