Rafa and Keano in the Manager mix

by Josh Powell | May 16, 2012

Rafa Benitez and Roy Keane have been well backed to make a return to the Premier League as the manager merry-go-round starts to pick up pace.

Benitez has remained popular with Liverpool fans overnight, now into 7/4 to take over the reigns from Kenny Dalglish.

Rafa was a massive 33/1 for the post earlier this week but that has been absolutely smashed into with more talk of King Kenny being dethroned after his showdown with the owners.

Wigan’s Roberto Martinez has been in for support as well and is just edging favouritism at 13/8. The big question remains whether he wants to be in a relegation fight next season… or whether he wants to stay at Wigan.

Money has been coming in for former Barca boss Frank Rikjaard, in to 8/1 from 16s. The Dutchman is no stranger to management success having won the Champions League and La Liga in 2006, but is currently manager of Saudi Arabia.

The climate might not be as warm over on Merseyside.

Down in the Midlands and soft cuddly Irishman Roy Keane could be taking over at West Brom. Keano has been backed from 16/1 into 4/1 this morning to take over at the Baggies.

Chris Hughton is the 11/8 favourite for the position after narrowly missing out on the play-off final with Birmingham. He might want to check with Alex McLeish first about what moving between Black Country rivals does to your career though.

Over at Villa the money is drying up for Big Mick McCarthy and punters are steaming in for Paul Lambert.

Lambert is evens to take up the position at Villa after guiding Norwich to 12th in the Premier League this season. Lambert has no reason to go though after having a very successful year, and the bonus of getting all those cheeky recipes of Delia after training.

Jobless Mick is now 2/1 after being 6/4, and Martinez and Rafa are back in the hunt at 11/2 and 16/1 respectively.
