Ole Ole Ole! Solskjaer backed to return to the Premier League with Villa

by Josh Powell | May 17, 2012

Plenty of punters are supporting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be the next Villa boss, with the ex-United striker now 9/2 for the post after being as big as 33/1.

Since his playing days ended Solskjaer went in to management and in his first season he guided Molde to the Norwegian League for the first time in their history. Even with the questionable quality of the football in Norway it is still an impressive achievement, and only seven defeats in 35 games is solid form.

Could Solskjaer really take over at the Villa? Maybe.
Could he teach Agbonlahor how to finish? Surely impossible.

The favourite for the Villa gig is still Paul Lambert at 6/4. The Canaries man is a popular choice with the fans, and the danger of second season syndrome could certainly be an incentive for the Norwich managaer to jump ship.

Roberto Martinez is still there or thereabouts at 9/2. The Wigan man is putting himself about a fair bit and the only job I haven’t heard him tipped for is the chippy in town.

Luckily for football lovers everywhere Big Mick McCarthy is still in the running at 13/2. Villa fans traditionally love attractive football and we all know what Mick can deliver.
