England fans will be filled with confidence going in to Euro 2012 after seeing this miss from Andriy Voronin last night.
Roy Hodgson’s men face the co-hosts in the final game of Group D and even Stewart ‘no goals, no assissts’ Downing probably had a laugh at Voronin’s expense.
Ukraine won the game against Estonia 4-0, but the match will be remembered for this effort from the former Liverpool striker.
Voronin (32) was hardly prolific in the Premiership and managed just six goals in 40 appearances for Liverpool between 2007 and 2010.
And if he keeps knocking sitters like this over the bar for the next few weeks then it’s good news for Hodgson’s men and the rest of Group D!
Fortunately for Voronin this was an international friendly, otherwise he might well have been nominated for a Paddy!
