JUMP FOR MY LOVE: LeBron turns up the heat but called the Celtics’ point guard ‘amazing’

By Lee Dover

The NBA Conference Finals are under way, though two teams may already be feeling like they should have stayed well away from the basketball court.

After just two games, the Miami Heat are cruising with a 2-0 lead against the Boston Celtics.

The way the results are going, the Conference Finals could be all sewn up by the time Queen Elizabeth II reaches for her diamond-studded party hat to celebrate 60 years on the throne.

Anyone who believes the Heat will whitewash the Celtics can take odds of 2/1 from Paddy Power in online betting, although Boston will be keen to avoid a 4-0 thrashing

Celtics good at losing

Before the prices are taken though, it may be worth noting that none of the four Conference Finals matches has finished with more than 14 points separating the winning team and the side leaving the court with their tails firmly between their legs.

The Celtics have particularly shown strength in defeat, especially in Game 2 of their series with the Heat on May 30. Doc Rivers’ men battled their Florida rivals to overtime, before falling to a heartbreaking 115-111 reverse.

In that same tie, the Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo managed to finish the game with a career-high of 44 points – surely wins will come the team’s way if Rondo can keep on delivering more of the same.

Rondo’s impressive feat was so eye-catching, even the Heat dressing room was talking about it. LeBron James called the Celtics’ point guard “absolutely amazing” and Dwayne Wade admitted “there was nothing you could do” to stop Rondo last night.

Rondo and co will have to bring their best if they have any chance of stopping the Heat making it 3-0 tonight.
