DIGGER AND TRIGGER: Our man Ciaran with Ireland legend Jason McAteer

Listen here…

The Paddy Power Blog’s man in Poland, Ciaran O Raghallaigh, bumped into old pal Jason McAteer today in Gdansk.

Former Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool midfielder Jason is at Euro 2012 to do media work and punditry.

McAteer spoke to Shay Given and Richard Dunne after the game and reveals what was going on in their heads after the disappointing defeat to Croatia. He also gives his take on the chances of Spain, Germany and Italy.

The 52-times capped Ireland international shared some valuable insights into what went wrong for Ireland against Croatia. His version of events is pretty good listening.

McAteer attended  the 3-1 defeat to Croatia in Poznan and admitted Ireland “fluffed their lines”.

“The referees are more nervous than the players out there,” he said.
