BOYS IN GREEN: It will be all hands on deck against the Spanish on Thursday night (Inpho)

By Ciaran O Raghallaigh

Giovanni Trapattoni isn’t a man fond of change, as Ireland fans are only too aware of.

But noises coming out of the Ireland camp today, here in Gdansk, suggest he might be prepared to do things differently.

Following Ireland’s disastrous 3-1 opening game defeat to Croatia, Trap was unimpressed by his players and hinted that his usual line-up might not start against Spain.

Its thought the Italian will change the habit of his Irish lifetime by not naming the side today – something he’s done ever since taking charge of the team.

Jon Walters is the man mentioned by sources near the team as the main change to the team. Kevin Doyle could be the man to miss out, with skipper Robbie Keane seemingly undroppable.

Stephen Kelly is another that might come in with Stephen Ward a possible casualty.

All will become clearer, later this afternoon.

Possibly.
