Paddy Power’s Euro 2012 columnist Robbie Fowler thinks Wayne Rooney will replace Andy Carroll against Ukraine.
Roy Hodgson will bring in Wayne Rooney for Andy Carroll against the Ukraine on Tuesday night.
Andy did alright against Sweden and he scored a great header but with Wayne now available after his two-game suspension it’s hard to see how he can be left out.
Danny Wellbeck has played the two games he’s missed but he hasn’t really set the world alight so there’s no one you could say really deserves to be the number one pick.
No one has really stood out for England up front but Rooney is a cert to come back in and England will be a better team for it.
The good thing about England is they haven’t lost a game. It was a tough game against Sweden and we knew it was going to be hard.
I was not overly impressed with the way England played to be honest.
In the first game, admittedly they never looked great against France but they looked as though they were strong and compact.
That went out the window against Sweden. At times they were a little bit gung-ho which I didn’t really like and I thought the game was quite stretched.
Sweden scored two against us and they’re not the strongest team at the Euros. It doesn’t bode too well for when they play against one of the better teams.
