The brand spanking new 2012/13 Premier League fixture list has been released as the new season readies for kick-off on August 18.

Manchester City begin the defence of their title at home to Prem new boys Southampton while runners-up Manchester United face a tricky tie away to Everton the team that arguably cost them the title.

Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers start their new life together away to West Brom, now managed by their former head coach Steve Clarke.

Arsenal take on Sunderland at the Emirates looking to improve on last year’s worst-ever start to the season while currently managerless Spurs travel to high-flying Newcastle United. Roberto’s Martinez reward for (not really being wanted anywhere else) showing great lotyalty to Wigan is a home tie to Champions League and FA Cup winners Chelsea.

City’s title win has shifted the balance of power in Manchester but teams have struggled to regain their crown and unlike Giovanni Trapattoni’s  team selections there is plenty of fresh blood in the Premier League .

Harry Redknapp, Kenny Dalglish and Alex McLeish are now free to spend the summer on the golf course while new parking spaces will be reserved for Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool), Paul Lambert (Aston Villa), Michael Laudrup (Swansea), Chris Hughton (Norwich) and Steve Clarke (West Brom).

Reading, West Ham and Southampton have joined ‘Coping with Vertigo’ nightclasses while Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn are attending weekly sessions in ‘Enhancing Self Esteem.’
