It was a horribly familiar feeling for England as some badly taken penalties saw them crash out of Euro 2012 at the quarter-final stage. Having bravely stayed with the Italians for 120 minutes, England looked to have a great chance of going through to the semi-final when Montolivo pulled his penalty wide, but poor spot-kicks from Young and Cole handed Italy the initiative and they didn’t slip up twice.
It’s heart-breaking for the fans, but Paddy Power customers will enjoy some relief as the penalty shoot-out ensured one of the biggest Money-Back Specials Refunds in the company’s history. As the match went to penalties, we’re refunding all losing 1st Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match.
In total that’s over €1,000,000 making it’s way back to the accounts of Paddy Power customers.
It’s not as good as a semi-final against the old foes from Germany, but it’s the best we can do.
Incredibly, It’s the 8th time a Money-Back Special has come good for punters at Euro 2012 and with three massive games to come, that number could move even higher.
It’s a lot of bets, so it may take a couple of hours before the refunds hit the relevant accounts. Please be patient and if after that you don’t receive a refund you think you’re due, contact @AskPaddyPower or our Customer Service team.
