London 2012 is in full swing after last night’s spectacular opening ceremony. Here at Power Tower we have taken time out from our hectic day to point you in the direction of the five best reasons to be glued to the games.
1. Lolo Jones
29-year-old American hurdler. She holds the American record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.72 seconds.
2. Stephanie Rice
24-year-old Australian swimmer. She holds the world record in the 400m individual medley and won three gold medals in the 2008 games.
3. Jessica Ennis
26-year-old British heptathlete. Jess holds the national record for the heptathlon and the indoor pentathlon. She won heptathlon gold in the 2009 World championships and the 2010 European championships.
4. Team USA volleyball
They won silver at the 2008 games in Beijing and will be looking to go one better in London.
5. David Boudia
One for the all the ladies that read the blog: 23-year-old American diver David Boudia. He competes in the platform and synchronised dives both from 10 metres.
