Top jock Ruby Walsh got his and Paddy Power punters Galway festival off to a flyer yesterday when booting home Train of Thought (9/4) as part of trainer Dermot Weld’s 115/1 treble. He marks your card on Day Two. While Tom Lee gives his thoughts on day one of Glorious Goodwood

I’ve only two rides today and the first is Zuzka for Willie Mullins. She has to have a great chance and won very well the last day at Sligo and was third on her debut at Gowran Park. She won her two bumpers also. It’s a very competitive race but for the prize money on offer that’s what you’d expect?
He’s Our Man has been very consistent. Mount Colah won very well in Sligo. St Gervais was second in a good handicap at Killarney and has won a bumper around here. Clondaw Warrior was a good bumper horse too and Face Value won well last time up. But I like Zuzka’s. She’s a handy little mare, she’s progressive, won’t mind a drop of rain and I think she has a good chance.

Devils’s Elbow may suffer if the rain comes down. He’s crept up to 135 over fences but was only a 116 hurdle horse. He’s a handy little horse but he may be up against it. He’s a good jumper but Galway may be a disadvantage to him.
If FingerOnthePulse came back to his best as a former Galway Plate winner he’d be hard to beat. Definite Class has been banging on the door. Cooldine has been on the go a long time and is a former Festival winner. He’s fit and he’s well but you’d have to go back a long way to find his winning form.

Darenjan is a course specialist. LeBlon has been running well. Willie (Mullins) runs Moveable Asset but Aughnacurraveel beat me very well the last time over 2m4f at Tipperary and he could be an interesting one at a fair price for Peirce Gallagher.

Rock Critic was one of the ones Dermot Weld mentioned to me about running over jumps later in the week. He’s in great form. I think he’s a great chance. Even with top weight and a reasonable draw in eight he’d be the one I’d be siding with.
Money-back special: If your selection finishes 2nd to Rock Critic Paddy Power will refund your losing single stake (T&C’s apply).

Big Break is bound to be fancied but he’s first time up. Magical Dream has a run under his belt and the Weld team overturned the market on Ballydoyle yesterday. Who knows maybe it will swing back to Coolmore today.

I’d only be waffling! They mean nothing to me.

I’d fancy Jim Bolger’s Mona Brown. A good pedigree and the yard won the bumper last night with Cul Baire and could go in again.
