VIDEO: Olympic gold for Sergio Ramos?

by Josh Powell | August 3, 2012

GOLD FOR SPAIN? Ramos has been putting in the practice in the pool

Spain haven’t had much success in the Olympics so far, picking up just the one silver medal in the women’s 200 metre butterfly race. Maybe if they’d had Sergio Ramos in the water you would have seen Spain topping the medal tables more often than not.

Michael Phelps has just become the most successful Olympian of all time after picking up yet more medals in the pool, taking his total haul to a staggering 19, and it seems everyone has caught the swimming bug.

The Real Madrid team are currently on a pre-season tour of America and Sergio Ramos took time out to challenge Kaka to a 50 metre freestyle race in the pool. The Spaniard led from start to finish to destroy Kaka although his technique is questionable. Considering the amount of practice he does through the year his dive left a lot to be desired as well.

Poor technique aside Sergio Ramos did enough to impress us and who knows, we could well see him on top of the podium at Rio 2016.
