It was another cracking Saturday of Premier League action yesterday with plenty of stunning goals and drama on show. Here at the Paddy Power Blog we’ve picked out two skillful highlights from the day to find out who people think has better tekkers.
Nando looks like he’s starting to find some form at Chelsea and had another impressive game against Newcastle. Whether it’s the departure of Didier Drogba, or the arrival of Edin Hazard, Torres has looked like the player of old who tore defenders to shreds on a weekly basis for Liverpool.
He’d already won a penalty and scored a rocket of a goal before pulling off this delightful rabona with half an hour remaining. Unfortunately it was cut out before reaching Hazard but it was some delightful tekkers from the Spanish international.
David De Gea
He’s received plenty of criticism for flapping around between the sticks for Manchester United but De Gea is a solid shot stopper who showed he’s got some quick feet to boot.
His first touch from a back-pass against Fulham is a little dubious but with the big Croatian Mladen Petric bearing down on him, Dave did not panic. He simply dropped a shoulder and had Petric’s pants down with a lovely little turn inside his own six yard box.
