VIDEO: Papiss Cisse scores a stunning header

PAPISS DAYS – Papiss Cisse scores another cracker, this time against Cote d’Ivoire (pic: Inpho)

He’s come into our world like a whirlwind. Since landing in the Premier League thanks to the incredible scouting of Alan Carr’s dad Graham and his team at Newcastle, Papiss Cisse has been a revelation. His two goals against Chelsea last season were of a breathtakingly high quality, but he doesn’t just turn it on for club duty.

He was in as he and his Senegal team-mates were playing the first leg of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cote d’Ivoire. His penchant for the spectacular remains as strong as ever, this time with a stunning header from 20 yards out that rockets over the helpless goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

His team-mate’s goal was none too shabby either as Dame N’Doye smashed home a half volley from about 30 yards out.

It may not count for a whole lot because Senegal’s 4-2 defeat gives them a mountain to climb if they’re going to book a place in next January’s Africa Cup of Nations. The Lions of Teranga will at least have home advantage when they try to overturn the deficit next month.
