No joy yesterday unfortunately. Sweet My Lord had an off-day and as expected Chiltern Hills found Rising Time and Tropical Three too good in the heavier ground. It’s a mixed card again today so I won’t be in action until the third last race.
For what Tony Martin’s Mulleady has done on the track she’s not overly well-handicapped. She beat Chiltern Hills well ast Ballinrobe but that one only finished third yesterday again.
Some of the form the others have look better on paper so unless she has something stored up her sleeve that I haven’t seen she may struggle.
Crafty Roberto travels over from the UK with Barry Geraghty doing 10-6 he must have a chance. He’s at the foot of the handicap he was a fifth to Lexi’s Boy in a competitive handicap at Sandown in April and that could turn out to be better form.
The ground is pretty testing and four-year-olds will find it pretty difficult. Noel Meade’s Blue Cannon has good winter form and mighn’t be far away.
3m Handicap Chase 5.05
I’ve no ride in this one but Top Four of Tony Martin’s ran well at Galway when travelling well before being brought down. Granted there was plenty left to race but he could go well again.
Captain Christy Maiden Hurdle
I ride Dani Catalonia for the Willie Mullins yard. Schools well but she’s not the biggest in this testing ground. It won’t be straightforward for her and she may improve for better ground. I’d be hopeful rather than confident.
It’s the big race of the week tomorrow the Kerry National and Themoonandsixpence has a nice racing weight. Again he’d preferred better ground so we’ll see what happens overnight. He’s been off the track for more than two years so it would be a great training performance by Willie Mullins if he could win it first time up.
