This was Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick’s first goal in the Champions League since he found the net against Wolfsburg three years ago.
Good timing, as United needed it to beat Galatasaray 1-0 last night at Old Trafford, mainly due to some superb David de Gea saves keeping them in the game.
Carrick was a 25/1 shot in online betting with Paddy Power to score first, a bet 45 people were on.
The other talking points from the game were Nani’s missed penalty (United’s third in a row), and Darren Fletcher’s return from injury after 10 months out.
United are 9/1 to win the Champions League, behind Barcelona at 13/5 and Real Madrid at 7/2.
