It’s the biggest derby of the year and one of the most famous fixtures watched by fans worldwide. Manchester United go to Anfield on Sunday, a place they haven’t won at in the Premiership since 2007, and on this week’s Padcast former United defender Gary Pallister and Liverpool Echo sports reporter Neil Jones give their opinions on the tie.
Neil Jones gives us his unique insight into what this fixture means for the people of Liverpool and how passionate the build up can get. He also talks about the meaning of this clash and what the atmosphere will be like as Liverpool play at Anfield for the first time since the recent report on the Hillsborough tragedy.
Former United star Gary Pallister is able to give the Padcast an exclusive look into what it’s like from inside the dressing room before the derby and how overwhelming playing at Anfield is. This week find out:
- Why Alex Ferguson was angry despite Pallister’s brace in front of the Kop in 1997
- How Gary Neville and David Beckham were welcomed to Anfield for the first time
- Who Pallister’s toughest ever derby opponent was
All that and more from the big man himself who didn’t have the prettiest of records on Merseyside.
We’ll also be looking ahead to the weekend’s other Premier League fixtures and pointing you in the direction of some tasty looking prices for the 3.00pm Saturday games!
