NFL video: Big Ben is ticking along nicely for the Steelers

by Rob Dore | October 4, 2012

No more high-school refs means no more excuses in the NFL. We’re already a quarter way through the season and some big name teams are already worrying about their play-off chances.

The New Orleans Saints, a team which won the Super Bowl in 2009, have yet to win a game. The Packers have been far from convincing. The Patriots only started playing in the second half of their last game against the Bills. The Steelers only have one win to their name and the Jets, well, they’re still the Jets.

Who would have predicted the Texans would be the favourites for Super Bowwl XLVII after four weeks of the season?

Worry not, help is here in the form of our charmingly knowledgeable American colleagues on the Paddy Power Sports Network (PPSN) in Las Vegas who are here to run you through some of this week’s biggest NFL games.

Sunday’s first live game is a biggy with the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at 6pm on Sky Sports 3. Next up is a QB Hall-of-Famer battle as Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos travel to New England to take on Tom Brady and his Patriots at 9.25pm on Sky Sports 3.

Sunday’s final game is over on Channel 4 at 1.20am where the New Orleans Saints desperately need to beat the visiting San Diego Chargers. Defeat will leave the Saints on 0-5, all but ending their season.

Early on Tuesday morning the unbeaten Houston Texans will be hoping Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets play as poorly as they did last week in the BBC2 game at 1.30am.

FREE BET: The Paddy Power Sports Network (PPSN) is offering a free £/€50 bet this week on the NFL — watch this episode of PPSN for the details on how to enter via Twitter.

Stat Attack: Nobody gets their team to bounce back from a defeat better than Mike Tomlin. Under his guidance the Pittsburgh Steelers have covered nine straight games coming off a straight up loss.
