Betting news on €500k refunds, West Ham and the cricket

by Josh Powell | November 19, 2012

It was an expensive weekend for Paddy Power as we paid out more than €500,000 to punters in Money-Back Specials on the horse-racing, football and darts.

Ruby Walsh, Gareth Bale and a whole host of darts players were the men that hit Paddy hardest and gave punter’s pockets a healthy boost with Christmas just around the corner.

West Ham take on Stoke in tonight’s Premier League action in a game where the ball might not want to come out again at half-time. It probably won’t be pretty but there is every chance of being packed full of action. In the nine Premier League games at the weekend there were 33 goals which is over 3.5 a game and hopefully this will be another one packed full of net-busters.

West Ham are the slight favourites at home for tonight’s game at 21/20. Stoke haven’t won an away game in the league since the 2nd of January and the Potters are 11/4 to cause an upset tonight. It’s 23/10 to end in all square at Upton Park.

Andy Gray fancies Big Sam’s team to take the three points tonight and score exactly two goals in the game.

India have wrapped up the first test against England, winning by nine wickets this morning.  The hosts had to chase 77 in their second innings and were happy to get the job done quickly.  It took just 15-and-a-half overs for the game to be won with India smashing 12 fours and one huge six.

Virender Sehwag was the only man to be dismissed, caught by Kevin Pieterson as he lined up another whopping boundary. India finished on 80 for one to win convincingly by nine wickets.

Alistair Cook’s side are now 14/1 to win the series with India red-hot favourites at 1/6

Racing today comes from Leicester, Plumpton and Wolverhampton.

The Sun newspaper’s top tipster Templegate has a leading fancy in the 2.20pm handicap chase at Plumpton.

‘Go to town on Camden. He ran well over a trip that stretches his stanima on his chase debut at Stratford earlier this month. The drop in trip is in his favour and he is well weighted on hurdle form’.
