Many people say the magic of the FA Cup has been lost. Possibly due to Manchester United pulling out of the competition in 1999, or the hectic fixture list which means teams have to put out weaker sides, or the way managers will prioritise a top four spot or Premier League survival over a cup run.
But this man in a pub in Chester has proved to the world the magic of the cup is strong.
Robin Van Persie scored in the first minute of injury time at Upton Park as Manchester United drew 2-2 with West Ham and earned a third round replay back at Old Trafford. It was a sublime goal from RVP celebrated wildly by many United fans, not least this guy.
After his wife told him to clam down or else she was leaving, our cup-loving friend told her where the door was and then even offered to hand back his wedding ring before continuing to chant and shout for another minute or so.
This is the spirit of the FA Cup and here at the Paddy Power Blog we love it.
