SNOW HOPE: Paddy Power keeps you up to date with where and when racing is going ahead today

Monday January 28th

What does Paddy Power have in common with January – They’re both incredibly miserable at the moment. The rain just keeps falling outside as the bleakest month of the year comes to an end and Paddy is lying in the foetal position upstairs listening to Dido. He’s refunded more than €900,000 in cold hard cash to racing punters this month and has taken it pretty hard.

The weather is causing chaos for punters again today with plenty of rain and freezing temperatures hitting the UK and Ireland.

Plumpton got nailed with the worst of it over the weekend, having to deal with four inches of snow and 32 millimetres of rain and it’s no surprise that meeting has been cancelled. Luckily horses love racing on the dirt and the all-weather meetings at Kempton and Wolverhampton will go ahead to brighten up your Monday afternoon.

There is plenty of action from abroad as well with meetings from South Africa, South America and France. Please be warned though that the sight of racing in glorious sunshine might invoke feelings of extreme jealousy while the rain is bouncing of the pavements outside your house.
