In the strangest transfer deadline day move since Bebe left a homeless shelter to join Manchester United in 2010, West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie tried to force a move through to QPR. The 31-year-old Nigerian rocked up at Loftus Road convinced that Harry Redknapp would sign him despite West Brom not accepting a bid.
Twitter was on hand to deliver the most amusing quips about the whole saga as Odemwingie was left red-faced and ready to face one of the most awkward training sessions this morning.
Arsenal funny-man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain kicks us off with a cracking tweet offering the misguided Baggie a bed for the night…
Does Odemwingie need a place to stay tonight?

59.99 – Peter Odemwingie has just spent £59.99 on a full QPR kit so he can finally call himself one of their players. Hoops.

Will Odemwingie ever live this down? "Sign Me Maybe" "Hey, I just drove here. And this is crazy. I'm in your car park. So sign me maybe"”

PETER ODEMWINGIE. To get home tonight it's M25, M1, M6, over the burnt bridge, then perform a humiliating U turn.

"Have you been invited to that party tonight?" – "No, I'm just going to Odemwingie."
