Top pundit Andy Gray gives his expert Premier League football tips to Paddy Power
West Brom vs Spurs, Sky Sports 1, 1.30pm
This is a tough, tough game for Spurs. I thought they’d beat Norwich away but they didn’t get going, in the first half in particular. They were better in the second half of that game. They competed and it was a fabulous equaliser from Gareth Bale. But the Baggies are tough at the Hawthorns. They don’t lose many, although their form has been a little up and down, they are still in the top 10.
It would not surprise me if this was a low-scoring draw. If you want to win the title you’d be looking to go the West Brom and beat them. But for Tottenham it’s about finishing in the top four and getting Champions League. They’ll look to win it but a point would be a decent result against West Brom.
Andre Villas-Boas will have the German signing Lewis Holtby available and he was bright against Norwich. They’ve lost Sandro to injury and Scott Parker is still getting back to full fitness. Holtby was infectious and sharp against Norwich and AVB will want him settled in the team very quickly. It’s the reason why teams place so much emphasis on getting players in during the transfer window – it lifts the club.
Goalscorer tip: He’s a predator and has enough shots at goal. Jermain Defoe hasn’t got one now, for a game!
Andy Gray’s tip: Paddy Power has odds of 22/1 on a 1-1 draw with Defoe first in the Scorecast betting [share this tip on Twitter]. Defoe anytime and Spurs to win at 5/2.
