Andy Gray exclusive: Suarez and Sturridge can keep Liverpool’s good run going

by Sean Goff | February 11, 2013

Andy Gray blog byline

Expert football pundit and analyst Andy Gray  joins The Paddy Power Blog to give his insight on tonight’s Premier League game between Liverpool and West Brom.

Andy had a good weekend on the tipping front predicting Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Stoke and Swansea all to win and forecasting both teams to score in the Spurs v Newcastle (2-1) and  Aston Villa v West Ham (2-1) games.

Andy’s also advised punters to look at Paddy Power offer of 25/1 that the Premier League’s top scorers of Van Persie, Suarez, Demba Ba, Michu and Gareth Bale who have scored 72 goals between them this season – all hit the net.  All have – Demba Ba didn’t play so if Suarez scores tonight anyone who took his advice will be  quids in.

Liverpool v West Brom, Sky Sports 1, Monday 8pm

Liverpool haven’t won in three in the league but the Baggies have lost four out of five. The Reds are beginning to play with more confidence and their squad is getting stronger. They were fantastic against Manchester City and Steven Gerrard has played every league game this season and is playing brilliantly.

Only two points separate these side in the league table but the Reds appear to be going in the right direction and strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge – who faces a late fitness battle – give them good options up front and also gives them the chance to change their shape in midfield if the game demands it.

Brendan Rodgers must feel very happy that this partnership is delivering and it could be worth taking a punt on both to score in this game with Suarez at 8/13 to score at anytime and Sturridge at 10/11.

West Brom actually won this fixture last April with Peter Odemwingie scoring in the 75th-minute but he’s currently persona non grata at the club. Former Liverpool coach   Steve Clarke will have to rely on his knowledge of the Anfield boot room but there’s been so many personnel changes that it’s a big ask. Liverpool to win for me.
