Reigning champion hurdler Rock on Ruby might be in line for a racecourse gallop next week as part of his final preparations for the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle. Harry Fry’s charge is currently 6/1 joint third favourite behind Hurricane Fly for the feature event of the opening day in a little under three weeks’ time.
The 3M Racing Plus Chase on Saturday could offer the last of the Festival clues and Paul Nicholls’ Rolling Aces heads the Kempton field at 10/3. An odds-on winner at Wincanton last time out he holds an entry in the Grade 3 JLT Speciality Handicap Chase on March 12.
Sandown and Warwick face precautionary inspections in about an hour to see if their cards get the green light but all-weather flat racing punters are well catered for with Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Dundalk. The overseas racing comes from South Africa, South America and Dubai.
