If you watched Arsenal beat Aston Villa yesterday and don’t recall seeing this cracker of a goal, don’t worry, you’re weren’t in a heroin-induced haze. Well, you might have been in a heroin-induced haze, we don’t actually know, but at least this goal comes from the Argentinian Arsenal, the ones from Sarandi.
Apart from the name, the two Arsenal’s have little in common as you can tell from this amazing hit. While the English Arsenal would have tried to pass and move it into the penalty area, only pulling the trigger when the ball is two yards out and the opposition goalkeeper has fainted from vertigo, the Argentine version are more happy to have a punt from distance. This one came from the boot of Carlos Carbonero.
‘Hacer una reverencia, hijo’ as the local version of Andy Gray probably didn’t say.
