Crufts 2013: Paddy’s barking mad with this doggy-style odds

by Sean Goff | March 1, 2013
HOUNDED OUT:

TIME  OUT:  The world’s greatest dog show is a serious business

Crufts 2013 | Woof

Sales of pooper-scoopers are likely to go through the roof at Crufts – the annual dog Oscars at the NEC Birmingham next week.

In what is the greatest canine love-in since Ashleigh and Pudsey won Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 more than 25,000 immaculately groomed and manicured mutts will strut their stuff for the coveted Best In Show Award at Crufts.

Now Paddy’s known to enjoy a bit of doggy style and has been sniffing around for information. Those in the know reckon this is the year for terriers who have been top dog 20 times in 76 years, just behind the recording-breaking gundogs with 23 wins. Both breeds are 2/1 joint favourites with Paddy Power.

Only two ‘toys’ – a Pekingese in 2003 and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in 1974 – have won the Best In Show award before so the Diabolotin Moustachu (moustached little devil in French) has his work cut out.

Channel 4 racing presenter Clare Balding will present the annual dog-fest which runs from March 7-10.
