Mail De Bievre was supplemented at the six-day stage today for the Champion Chase but will it matter?
All weekend you will hear punters, racing pundits, taxi drivers, neighbours, homeless people, basically everyone telling you that nothing can stop Sprinter Sacre in the Queen Mother Champion Chase. Barry Geraghty is one of those people.
The jockey can’t pick out any negatives on his mount who has won all seven of his chase races by an incredible 95 lengths in total. Sacre’s cruising speed and faultless jumping has seen off many high quality rivals but he looks a class apart in this contest and Barry Geraghty must be practically chalking this one up on the board.
There are no certainties at the Cheltenham Festival but Sprinter Sacre is the closest you will get so much so that Paddy has introduced a betting without Sprinter Sacre market.
Geraghty is super confident about the shortest-price favourite at the festival.
‘It is all positive pressure. We have complete faith in the horse because there is no negatives. Anything he does he does it with ease and he stamps his authority on races.’
‘To use the old cliche he ticks absolutely every box.’
