There’s nothing better than getting off to a winning start and the Cheltenham Festival is no different. Tuesday’s opening race is a tough enough nut to crack but 2012 leading jockey Barry Geraghty isn’t shy about shouting up Jezki’s chances.
The unbeaten hurdler is looking for his fifth success and Geraghty thinks the Cheltenham course will play to Jezki’s strengths. The JP McManus-owned five-year-old is a 5/1 shot with favouritism going to My Tent Or Yours.
The 7/4 favourite left everything else eating his dust as he romped home in the Betfair Hurdle. My Tent Or Yours eased away from Cotton Mill to win convincingly and have the bookies running for cover.
But Geraghty isn’t so convinced as Cheltenham is a tougher task than Newbury.
