Even Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is distracted. It’s 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and there’s no Premier League footie on the box. Damn these international weekends – unless you’re an England fan and are bound to qualify because your group is a gimme.
But for the Republic of Ireland (although a win over Austria on Tuesday ….), Northern Ireland (couldn’t even get their game against Russia kicked off) Wales and Scotland the sooner normal service is resumed the better.
We’ve no great goals, own goals, near misses, horror tackles or well dodgy refereeing decisions to show you. But here’s Wenger manically trying to find his jacket pocket.
Maybe it’s the one he usually keeps the club’s chequebook in.
