Just one season after making a £6m move from Fulham to Spurs, Clint Dempsey (30) has returned stateside to play for the Seattle Sounders. The attacking midfielder was the subject of something of a tug-of-war between Spurs and Liverpool last summer before switching to White Hart Lane.
Despite not always being a regular starter the USA captain still scored twelve goals in all competitions for Andre Villas Boas’ side. If surplus to requirements at Spurs it’s surprising there weren’t a host of Premier League teams making offers. However the speed with which the transfer went from a possibility to reality didn’t leave much room for hijacking.
At 30 he’s arguably in his prime so this seems a curious move but then footballers are curious people. So rather than try to dissect his inner-reasoning let’s just enjoy this rap video he starred in instead. It’s not terrible. Which is a lot more than one would expect from a professional footballer and it’s way better than Andy Murray’s effort.
