THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED
Congratulations to Dean Saunders who now has the chance to win £1 million by placing a bet from space.
We should clarify a couple of things. Firstly, it’s not that Dean Saunders. This Dean has never played for Liverpool and he certainly didn’t guide Wolves to relegation last season.
Secondly, Dean will not actually have to go to space to place the bet. We’re sending a computer gadget up in a balloon and the bet will placed using the kind of technology it’s not my job to understand.
Neil Armstrong. Chris Hadfield. Laika the dog. These, and more than 500 other men and women (and plenty of dogs, monkeys, ducks and turtles) have been into space, but now you can become a part of history that is out of this world.
Paddy Power is about to hit the pretty staggering figure of 1 million Facebook Fans. To celebrate we’re going to sip champagne, eat hearty steaks and discuss world domination while supermodels lavish us with compliments. But, more importantly, in recognition of your efforts, one punter will have the opportunity to win £1 million by placing a bet from space. That’s right. You. Bet. Space. £1m.
This is your chance to be a hero by becoming the first punter to have a bet from space – plus you could cash in a cool £1 million in winnings.
It’s like a funny version of the Big Bang Theory in the office as the Paddy Power Space Academy explain how they’re sending a helium balloon into space, fitted with a radio transmitter and Raspberry Pi computer gadget. This state of the art kit combined with your punting expertise – what could possibly go wrong?!

Suck on that Neil Armstrong.
