Super Sunday | Betting preview

Liverpool v Manchester United, Live Sunday, 1.30pm, SS1

One of the classic match-ups in world football – but that doesn’t make it any easier to call.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were functional in their two 1-0 wins and while United were good against Swansea, they were poor against Chelsea and hardly had a shot on goal.

There’s no chance that the Liverpool’s fans will allow them sit back against United though. They’ll think their side are in good enough form to get the win and will point to David Moyes’ record against Liverpool when he was Everton manager. He’s drawn six and lost six in 12 visits to Anfield.

MBS draw

Wayne Rooney looks to be staying at Old Trafford and I’d expect him to start if he’s not suffering the side effects of a training-ground collision. Robin van Persie surely won’t be as poor again as he was against Chelsea.

Beyond Daniel Sturridge scoring for Liverpool I’d look to Daniel Agger at a value price of 33/1 to score first or 12/1 to score at anytime in the goalscorers market.

Verdict: The draw at 9/4 looks the most likely outcome and 2-2 looks possible to me at 11/1 in the correct score market.
