OK we’re not quite Al Pacino. We haven’t got the rough-around-the-edges good looks or his brooding seriousness and explosive rage. What we do have is plenty of time on our hands, and that means we can go through all the odds on this weekend’s Premier League action and let you in on who the Paddy Power traders fear the most.
Here’s the inside scoop on the guys most likely to empty Paddy’s pockets this weekend and get you a free night on the town.
Anytime Goalscorer Odds
|Robin Van Persie||MUN||2.4|
It is bleak reading for Martin Jol and Fulham fans. While Sahid Khan’s moustache might amuse the Paddy Power traders, they are convinced Fulham are in for a pasting this weekend, and four of the top six most likely anytime scorers this week are Chelsea players.
Elsewhere there are plenty of unsurprising names that make the list (step forward Robin van Persie, Daniel Sturridge and Olivier Giroud) but it’s worth noting that Anelka is featured very high for goal-shy West Brom and Romelu Lukaku is fancied to score on his debut for Everton.
Sturridge and Giroud both have four goals in four games this season, with seven of these eight goals being the first of the game. The double for them both to score first this weekend is 19/1, with Liverpool hosting Southampton at Anfield, and Stoke visiting the Emirates.
The odds go down to 5/2 if you pick them both to score at any time, but if you throw Mr Money-bags Samuel Eto’o in there, the any time treble pays 9/2.
For the punters with a dream, you can select six players from the top ten (Eto’o, Giroud, Sturridge, Soldado, RVP and Benteke) and stick them in a Lucky 63. At £1 a line, that bet has the potential to return just over £850.00 which should definitely brighten up your September.
Clean Sheet Odds
Seriously Fulham fans, you should just stop reading this now.
Chelsea and Arsenal are both well fancied to pick up three points from their home games this weekend and the London double is 8/11. Throw them both down to keep a clean sheet though and you get 5/2. Not too shabby considering Stoke scored just 13 goals on the road last season and Fulham’s away record is as worrying as a Miley Cyrus music video.
Stick in the top four sides most likely to keep a clean sheet, that’s Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, and the accumulator pays 16/1.
