Our Conor Betting: likely 2013/14 season schedule

Where and when we can expect to see Our Conor this season

by Aidan Elder | October 19, 2013

Our Conor

While Hurricane Fly put young pretender Our Conor in his place at Christmas it wasn’t really a fair fight – but it was an awful lot closer in the Irish Champion Hurdle in January.

Finishing six-lengths third to the champ on his first run over hurdles since winning the Triumph last March gives trainer Dessie Hughes plenty to work on. And work he did as Our Conor eyeballed Hurricane Fly at the last before a two-way war to the line.

The Fly needed all his street smarts to get up and Dessie Hughes can go to the Festival with his first serious Champion Hurdle contender since Hardy Eustace’s glory days in 2004/05.

Granted, Danny Mullins’ well-placed elbow made AP McCoy’s life a little more difficult aboard Jezki at Christmas but he seemed to have gone backwards in Janaury. AP has hinted that My Tent or Yours will be his Champion Hurdle month in little over two weeks’ time.
