While Hurricane Fly put young pretender Our Conor in his place at Christmas it wasn’t really a fair fight – but it was an awful lot closer in the Irish Champion Hurdle in January.

Granted, Danny Mullins’ well-placed elbow made AP McCoy’s life a little more difficult aboard Jezki at Christmas but he seemed to have gone backwards in Janaury. AP has hinted that My Tent or Yours will be his Champion Hurdle month in little over two weeks’ time.
Stat: Only two 5yo’s from 90 have won the Champion Hurdle since 1985.
