This happened towards the end of the first half in Ireland’s autumn international against New Zealand. Yes, it’s a bit blurry, but it’s also a bit excellent.
Despite looking as solid as a jelly safe in their defeat against Australia last week, the Irish side were ferocious in the opening period. This tackle pretty much sums it up as Irish prop, Cian Healy bulldozes his way over the All Blacks’ captain and frequent master of the suspicious maul arts, Richie McCaw. Boom! That’s the technical term.
Considering Ireland’s still winless history against New Zealand, this has to count as one of our all time best moments against the Kiwis. Sad, but true.
