Sometimes, it’s just written in the stars.
The final of college football – the BCS Championship Bowl – takes place on Monday night between the Florida State Seminoles and the Auburn Tigers.
While Florida State romped through their season to finish at 13-0, Auburn have taken their fans on a ride for the ages.
First up was home to Georgia. With one play left and still 73 yards to go, the Tigers needed a miracle. Spoiler: they got it.
It’s the kind of ending you wait a lifetime for, and yet in their very next game it got even crazier. Auburn hosted arch-rivals Alabama (National Champions for the past two years), who had a field goal to win the game with just one second left.
The emotional rollercoaster of what followed will still be getting retold even after the robots have inherited the earth.
Auburn still had to dispose of Missouri in the SEC Final, but when you’re winning games like this it was merely a formality. Can they do it one more time on Monday night in Pasadena? Be afraid, Florida State, be very afraid.
