We’re good people here at the PP Blog. Not only did we put you wise to the hitman Martin Skrtel’s hidden goal scoring talents we’ve also made your acca betting that bit better-er with our new bet bonus system.
Just don’t tell the boss.
Arsenal v Manchester United
The Gunners had no answer to Liverpool’s 5-1 demolition job last Saturday but three points against Manchester United will put them top after Chelsea “could not cope” with West Brom last night drawing 1-1.
Both sides have been goal shy before tucking into their half-time oranges this season and neither manager will want to lose here so expect a cagey opener.
Arsenal and Man United have gone in level at the break in nine of the last 20 meetings. The Red Devils haven’t won away at the Emirates in the last decade when the sides are deadlocked at half-time.
The Gunners have won three and drawn two of the five home games this season which have been 0-0 at the interval, so expect the home side to come out all guns blazing in the second half.
Acca Bet: Draw H/T Arsenal F/T @ 9/2
Fulham v Liverpool
There’s little time for Brendan Rodgers’ side to bask in the glow of their 5-1 mauling of the Gunners. Liverpool’s home form has been hotter than Mila Kunis and they’ve scored 25 goals away from Anfield. Only Arsenal and City have scored more (26).
Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen may fear a visit to the dentist more then Liverpool’s ‘SAS’ he might need another shot of the laughing gas before he looks at his side’s home form – the worst in the league.
- Fulham have lost eight Premier League games this season, conceding 25 goals at home
- Liverpool won each of the last three games versus Fulham by at least two goals
Acca Bet: Liverpool -1 at evens
Manchester City v Sunderland
The Citizens have scored a minimum of three goals in their last four home games against the Black Cats, winning three and drawing one. Manuel Pellegrini’s side will need to bounce back here if their title dreams aren’t going to go up in smoke as we reach the business end of the season. The free-scoring City have failed to hit the onion sack in their last two games but face a Sunderland side who’ve struggled to keep 11 players on the pitch.
The Mackems have had six players sent off this season already and the floodgates could open if their ill discipline continues tonight.
Acca Bet: Man City to win and three or four total goals in the game is 8/5.
Everton v Crystal Palace
Roberto Martinez’s side have hit a speed bump in recent weeks with a 4-0 Merseyside Derby loss to Liverpool and Spurs mugging them 1-0 at the weekend.
But Everton have only been beaten once at Goodison this season (1-0 by Sunderland) and face a Crystal Palace side who have lost five of their last six on the road. Belgian winger Kevin Mirallas has been left to do a lot of the heavy lifting up front with Romelu Lukaku injured. Mirallas has scored three goals in his last five league games and is a big threat from set pieces.
If the Eagles defend deep then they’re more likely to give away free-kicks on the edge of their own penalty area. That’s where Mirallas and his dead-ball skills could reap dividends. He’s 11/2 to score first for the Toffees and 13/8 to score anytime.
Bet: Kevin Mirallas anytime goalscorer 7/4
