Beerly legal: Soak up some Saturday sunshine with our World Cup quarter-finals drinking game

by Josh Powell | July 5, 2014

Germany and Brazil (minus Neymar) have managed to stumble into the World Cup semi-finals and tonight two more sides will join them in next week’s slobberknocker of a showdown.

Everybody’s original dark horses Belgium will be taking on an Argentina side that have completely underwhelmed, while everybody’s new favourite dark horses Costa Rica take on a Dutch side wearing the limited edition Nike Flippers. The Argies and Belgium kick us off at 5pm in Brasilia where Lionel Messi will once again attempt to carry his nation through a knock-out tie, and then Holland and Costa Rica kick-off in Salvador at 9pm where Arjen Robben will be showing off an array of flamboyant falls. Lap it up folks.

It’s Saturday and the sun is shining, so if anything it is a massive social faux pas not to sup some refreshing pints while you soak up the rays.

The rules – and we use the word ‘rules’ advisedly because you can sack it off or just ignore it whenever suits you – are simple; every time one of the events mentioned in the drinking game actually happens, you knock back the amount of alcohol prescribed on the image. It’s designed for beer, but if you’re feeling dangerous, you could try it with a spot of vodka, or green tea if like me you’re in work.

Whatever you do, do it responsibly. Or failing that, upload it to YouTube and send us the link so we can all enjoy your ridiculous behaviour.
