It’s three weeks out to the start of the football season and you need to get your footie fix.
We were spoiled by the World Cup – bar the final and most of the games the Netherlands were involved in – so we needed something special to get the juices flowing again.
And special we’ve got my friend with this David Beckham-esque lob from Peru yesterday by midfielder Carlos Lobaton (34).
The veteran Sporting Cristal string-puller spots Juan Aurich keeper Steven Rivadeneyra off his line and decides to try his luck from 70 yards.
With Rivadeneyra doing his best Peter Neuer impression the ball sails high over his head into the net despite his best – and very comical – efforts to save it.
Lobaton had earlier scored direct from a corner as Sporting Cristal ran out 4-3 winners. Somebody, somewhere sign this man up.
