Hands up. We don’t give much coverage to the Scottish Championship here on the Paddy Power Blog but this fantastic hoof from Hibs keeper Mark Oxley is worth a peep.
This goal put Hibernian 2-0 up against Livingston at Easter Road on Saturday. The game, which was the sides’ first of the season, finished 2-1.
Oxley lashed the ball towards opposite number Darren Jamieson, who watched in horror as the ball bounced over him. Andy Goram was the last keeper to score for Hibs when he netted against Greenock Morton in 1988.
Conceding like this doesn’t do much for the reputation of Scottish keepers, but, heck, Hibs need all the firepower they can muster to get back into the Premier League.
