Andy Gray: Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle to bring up the treble with Chelsea and Manchester City to draw

Andy Gray goes head to head with the most popular bets of Paddy Power punters

by Sean Goff | September 19, 2014

After four weeks of pitting Andy Gray’s predictions against the most popular bets of the Paddy Power punters and asking ‘Are You* Smarter Than Andy Gray? (You plural)’, you’re not quite there just yet. A decent week for Andy saw him predict the 2-2 draw at the Emirates and five other results while you rowed in with four points of your own.

Aston Villa not being 15th after four games has seen Paul Lambert rewarded with a contract extension and the Midlanders host Arsenal on Saturday. The Villans put a serious dent in last week’s accas with their 1-0 at Liverpool and the Reds face a Saturday night trip to West Ham whose fans are still getting over the shock of seeing them score two goals against Hull in MNF.

The Sky Sports hype machine has had a full service since Transfer deadline day and returns for a Super Sunday that kicks off  with ‘now he’s spent £150m he’s a footballing genius again’ Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United at newbies Leicester while table toppers Chelsea travel to Manchester City in what is NOT the first six-pointer of the season.

QPR v Stoke
Loftus Road, Saturday 12.45 – BT Sports 1

Andy says: I can’t see this being an exciting game as neither side has much firepower. A low-scoring draw.
.

Andy’s bets:  Score draw | 1-1 | Leroy Fer to score at anytime

You say: Stoke to win | 2-1 | Charlie Austin as first goalscorer

Aston Villa v Arsenal
Villa Park, Saturday 3pm

Andy says: I fancy Arsenal to win this. Villa pulled off a smash ‘n’ grab at Anfield but Arsneal will be hurting after their Champions League defeat and will want to bounce back at a ground where they are unbeaten in their last 15 league visits. (W8,D7)

Andy’s bets: Arsenal to win | Danny Welbeck first goalscorer

You say: Aston Villa to win | Danny Welbeck first goalscorer

Newcastle v Hull
St James Park, Saturday 3pm

Andy says: Alan Pardew is under pressure and there’s talk that Steve Bruce could be in line for his job. Newcastle might just pull it out of the fire in front of the home supprt.

Andy’s bets: Newcastle to win | Correct Score 1-0

You say: Hull to win | Abel Hernandez as first goalscorer

West Ham v Liverpool
Boleyn Ground, Saturday 5.30pm – Live Sky Sports 1

Brendan Rodgers slipped up with his team selection against Villa last week and may use Rickie Lambert’s for his physicality against a West Ham side who you’re never really sure will turn up. They looked decent against Hull last Monday though and might surprise a few.

Andy’s bets:: Draw | 1-1| Ricky Lambert anytime goalscorer

You say:: Liverpool | 3-1 | Mario Ballotelli as first goalscorer

ANDY 0 YOU 0

——————————-

Leicester v Man United
King Power Stadium, Sunday 1.30pm – Live Sky Sports 1

Andy says: This will be more difficult for United than the QPR game. United have fantastastic firepower now but their defence is still suspect. They should win but Leicester will push them close

Andy’s bets:: United to win | Correct Score 2-1

You say:: United to win | Correct Score 3-0

Man City v Chelsea
Etihad Stadium, Sunday 4pm – Live Sky Sports 1

Andy says: I don’t think this will be similar to the Arsenal draw. This will be tighter and the defenders will be working hard. Will Manuel Pellegrini play two up top? Chelsea will flood the midfield and they could dictate the game

Andy’s bets:: Draw | 1-1 | Eden Hazard first goalscorer

You say:: Chelsea to win | Correct Score Chelsea 2-1 | First goalscorer Diego Costa

ANDY 2 YOU 0
