The Premier League had a few too many shandies last weekend as Arsenal were the only team in the traditional top seven to pick up three points. OK, Chelsea’s trip to Man City might have been a relatively obvious one to call as Jose Mourinho parked the bus, but Man United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton all getting turned over wasn’t in the script.
Of course it resulted in an accumulator bloodbath as punters saw their multiples wiped out by Jamie Vardy, Diafra Sakho and co. However that didn’t stop a couple of shrewd Paddy Power customers cleaning out Paddy’s pockets with some clever cashing out, ensuring they were wining and dining courtesy of the boss, despite the football mayhem.

Sunday’s outsiders turn €5 into more than €2.5k
Your luck has to be in to start with when you’re backing Leicester, West Brom and Crystal Palace, but then to have the wits about you to cash out on Chelsea as they struggled away to Man City is admirable. Arguably the side with the best chance of the four selections came unstuck, but that didn’t stop this punter cashing in a cool €2,600 despite the two heavyweights playing out a draw at the Etihad Stadium.
Palace’s heroics didn’t stop this punter collecting €793
Another punter who was shrewd enough to include Leicester and West Brom in his six-fold, but he also threw in three draws as well, and Dundee Utd to beat local rivals Dundee away. It was plain sailing in parts as the teams north of the border did their part and the Foxes and the Baggies picked up unlikely results, but going into the later games and it was time to get out. While Chelsea and Man City slogged out a draw at the Etihad, Palace went 3-1 up at Goodison Park, and this punter scampered away with almost €800 in his pocket.
Two losing legs doesn’t matter when you have €700 off €1
An ambitious eight-fold for €1 here that was cashed out before the sun had even risen on Sunday morning. After West Ham upset the odds to beat Liverpool at Upton Park, this punter could have had a sleepless night waiting on the results of Leicester v United and City v Chelsea. He probably had a sleepless night anyway, but rather than nerves he was probably painting the town red. A cheeky cash out gave him €700 and Sunday’s double disappointment didn’t matter one bit. That round was on Paddy.
